The Substitutes of Suffering, Understanding Avoidance and Procrastination

€29.99

October 7th, 2024 - October 10th, 2024

Duration: 2 day-workshop (90min per day)

Who is this for?

  • The struggling artist, writer, or performer.

  • The new writer or artist.

You were not taught the right tools to manage your life as an artist. In a world of “find a real job“ and “how do you make money?“ you developed ways that worked for you (even if you can’t see it) in an environment that worked against you. Procrastination, avoidance, doubt and self criticism are all too often unwanted companions in the creative journey but they are also the armor you protect yourself with in a world that can be relentless.

It's easy to believe that if you could "just do this one thing" you'd fix it all—only to find that, in the end, you're still struggling. Time management techniques, will power hacks and motivational post-its can be helpful tools against avoidance and procrastination but the true shifts required come from a different place.

Being an artist is about discovery, recovery and realignment of your own internal wisdom. You were built to be curious, passionate and resilient. Are you prepared to be vulnerable enough to uncover the unconscious agreements that you’ve made with yourself? Are you courageous enough to learn what procrastination and avoidance are really doing for you? Are you ready to learn the right tools to lead a creative life filled with purpose?

Join us as we explore ways of understanding, freeing, and embracing our creative selves.

What to Expect

  • A highly interactive workshop with a mixture of conversation, activity, dialogue, and experiential, and artistic exercises to help you gain access and work with your inner blocks.

  • We’ll explore how different influences in your life may be impacting your relationship to your art. Work through feelings of guilt, shame, and resistance.

  • Find the exiled and intuitive part of yourself and give it a voice.

  • Explore the vision of what being an artist means for you.

  • Utilize the foundational tools that will help you overcome your blocks. (Hint: Walking the Web, Paying the Price of Admission, CAR, amongst others)
